If you’ve already seen the Escape Cowl and Beanie, you will know I have a love for all things geometric. These mittens complete the set and are such a quick, easy knit.

These are knit from the wrist up.  Starting with simple 2x2 ribbing and then the knit and purl pattern followed by a small ribbing top.  The thumb is short and easy to work.

If you like this pattern, please give it a shout out on social media and know that your support is much appreciated.

I can't wait to see your fabulous Escape Set.

Finished Measurements

Measurements when unblocked and laid flat :

Wrist : 2 in / 5cm, Plm : 3 in / 7.5 cm, Wrist to top cuff : 7 in / 18 cm

Blocking is not strictly required. This is one of the few designs that looks amazing either way. My preference for this one is unblocked. These mittens have a generous amount of stretch due to the stitch pattern.

It will comfortably fit teens through adults. It really is the closest to ‘one size fits all’.

Yarn

  • Approx 50g (110m) of a solid or semi-solid DK. It is not ideal for ‘busy’ colours as the stitch pattern will get lost.

Suggested Needles

  • 3.5mm dpns or circulars for magic loop method.
